Dental Veneers FAQS

How long do dental veneers last?
Porcelain veneers typically last between 10-15 years, while composite veneers last about 5 years, depending on care and wear.
Are dental veneers right for me?
Veneers are ideal for individuals looking to improve their smile due to stains, chips, or gaps. They are also suitable for those seeking a long-lasting cosmetic solution.
Do veneers require special care?
Veneers do not require any special care. Continue brushing, flossing, and visiting your dentist regularly. However, avoid biting on hard objects to prevent cracking your veneers.
What are the costs involved?
Composite veneers are more affordable but less durable than porcelain veneers, which offer a longer-lasting solution. We offer flexible payment plans and 0% interest options to make both choices accessible.
Our approach
What actually gets removed for a veneer
We are open about the fact that a porcelain veneer means preparing the tooth. We remove about a millimetre to a millimetre and a half of enamel from the front, sides and top of the tooth, which is minimal and nowhere near the exaggerated preparations people see in pictures from abroad. Anything bonded to a tooth, composite included, changes it, so the decision is never treated as reversible.
Age and candidacy matter. We would not feel comfortable shaving a very young patient’s teeth for veneers when there is always something else that can be done, and today’s trend for very straight, rectangular teeth may not be tomorrow’s, which is one reason composite bonding can be the better choice for someone young. Good candidates have healthy gums, do not smoke, and are willing to look after the veneers afterwards.

“Your nails grow out, your enamel doesn’t.”
